Stephane Gauger’s gentle and
luminous film unfolds on the tough but hopeful streets of urban
Vietnam. Headstrong and irrepressible, 10-year-old Thuy runs away to
Saigon after causing trouble on the job at her uncle's factory. Alone
in the city, selling roses on the streets, she eventually befriends two
lovelorn strangers: Lan, a beautiful but heartbroken flight attendant,
and Hai, a zookeeper more comfortable with his animals than people.
