2008, northern France. Marion and her little sister Jeanne, witness their mother Catherine getting back with a man who brings back bad memories. One evening, the man assaults Catherine in a drunken rage, forcing Marion to intervene violently to help her. Panicked, Marion runs to her father’s, who is normally not allowed to see his daughters. He takes advantage of Marion’s distress to convince her to move to Brussels with him under a new identity.

Louise finds herself torn between two identities, faced with a choice that will determine the rest of her life: to remain who she has become or to reveal the truth and pick up where her life left off.
