Opened in 2016 in a Paris suburb, The House of Women is a place of refuge and rebuilding for those who have experienced violence. Here, doctors, psychologists and volunteers join forces to heal bodies and soothe souls. The Saint-Denis shelter welcomes women who have been victims of physical, sexual, and psychological violence. Here, they find a safe space and are given the opportunity to restore their dignity. Every day, staff members Diane, Manon, Inès, and Awa offer a listening ear, medical assistance, and legal support. They operate as a strong, cohesive team, even though it sometimes throws them off balance.
