THE PICTURE OF HIS LIFE (Israel, U.S., Canada)
July 25, 2020 @ 1:00 am to approx. 11:30 pm
Environmentalist, explorer, “soldier of Mother Nature” and one of the greatest underwater photographers of all time, Amos Nachoum’s work has been featured in National Geographic, Time and The New York Times, among other media. His unique approach has put him face-to-face with some of the most fearsome predators on Earth–crocodiles, killer whales, great white sharks. But one major predator always eluded him—the polar bear. His last attempt almost killed him, but now, at the age of 65, he’s determined to take one last shot at capturing the “picture of his life”. Amos heads to the Canadian Arctic. As the beautifully shot journey unfolds, so does an intimate and painful story of dedication, sacrifice, personal redemption and a quest for inner peace. Amos has one final photographic dream remaining – to photograph a Polar Bear underwater, while swimming alongside it. The film follows Amos as he prepares for his ultimate challenge. As the journey unfolds, so does an intimate and painful story of dedication, sacrifice and personal redemption.
